Ohio Athletic Director Jim Schaus introduces Ohio's new head volleyball coach, Deane Webb

First-year Ohio volleyball coach Deane Webb is taking his team out into the community. Webb announced Thursday that Ohio will host its annual Green & White scrimmage at the Athens Community Center on Aug. 23.

The scrimmage is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. Cost of admission for fans is two canned goods, according to a release from the athletic department.

"We're excited to involve the community in this year's Green & White scrimmage," Webb said, according to the release. "Instead of asking the community to come to us as they do in our other home matches, we're bringing our team to them."

The Bobcats went 26-7 last season on the way to MAC regular season and tournament titles. Former head coach Ryan Theis left the program for the same title at Marquette University during the offseason.

Ohio returns eight players from last season's active roster, including AVCA All-America honorable mention selections Abby Gilleland and Kelly Lamberti. Past First Team All-MAC selections Karin Bull, Meredith Ashy and Chelsea Bilger are also all on the 2014 roster.

Ohio volleyball opens fall camp on Aug. 10.
