The Trimble Tomcats haven’t lost a regular season game since Week 2 of the 2012 season. The Tomcats will look to add another week to that streak against Waterford on Friday night as the undefeated Tomcats (3-0, 2-0 TVC-Hocking) take on the struggling Waterford Wildcats (1-2, 1-1) team on Friday night.

On paper, Waterford doesn’t appear to be able to compete with the likes of the Tomcats, who were the state runners-up just one season ago. However the Wildcats did show a lot of fight in a 40-21 loss to Wahama in Week 2.

First on the checklist for Waterford is stopping Trimble’s Justice Jenkins. He missed last week’s game due to suspension, but has been on a tear this season, using his arm, legs, and hands to rack up the yards. That’s not even mentioning the tremendous leadership on defense he’s displayed thus far.

Trimble wide receiver Austin Downs has been just as good. The senior has been hauling in passes from quarterback Andrew Losey all season, and add in all-purpose back Terry Simerly and you have yourself a nightmare in the making as any opposing defense.

Waterford will have to stop the playmakers of Trimble if they want any chance at ending Trimble’s streak. Considering the Wildcats have given up an average of 38 points the last two games, it seems unlikely.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Glouster.
