Tri-Valley continued their MVL dominance with a 38-7 over New Lexington on homecoming weekend in Dresden.

The Scotties’ (5-0, 3-0 MVL) Hunter Mohler returned the opening kickoff 70 yards and the Scotties capitalized on the good field position with a one-yard Brock Fargus touchdown run.

New Lexington (2-3, 2-2 MVL) got on the scoreboard in the first quarter when quarterback Colin Russell found his cousin, Tommy Russell, for a three-yard touchdown pass, but it was all Tri-Valley from that point on.

The Scotties outscored the Panthers 24-0 in the second quarter on the strength of three Fargus touchdown passes—two of them to Hunter Mohler. Fargus, a senior, completed 10 of 14 passes for 279 yards in the game. Mohler finished the night with three receptions, two of which were touchdowns. He also showed his skills on the defensive side of the football, adding 8.5 tackles.

Tri-Valley sophomore receiver Colin Slaboden reeled in a 50-yard Fargus touchdown and finished the game with 126 receiving yards. Tri-Valley running back Logan Bash tallied 64 yards on the ground and added 39 yards on two receptions. The Scotties outgained the Panthers 390-152 on offense.

For New Lexington, Colin Russell finished the game 12 of 25 passing for 138 yards and one touchdown, as well as an interception. Seth Abrams caught five passes for 74 yards.

Tri-Valley will hope to continue their hot streak next week when they travel to West Muskingum (0-5, 0-5).  New Lexington will look to rebound when they host non-conference opponent Coshocton (5-1).
