A horror movie shot in Belpre will be screened this Saturday at the Athena Cinema.

The Axeman of Henderson County is about a small town terrorized by an axe-wielding serial killer. The movie is described as a “campy, tongue-in-cheek thriller/comedy.”

The film’s cast consists of WWE Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, West Virginia University college football hall of famer Major Harris, The Walking Dead zombie Jeremy Ambler, and Athens native Megan Marie Wilson. Local band Bobaflex did the ending credit song for the film.

The movie was written by Cindy Parmiter and directed by Larry Parmiter.

Tickets for the movie are $8 and may be purchased in advance at Peddlers Junction in Belpre and The Sound Exchange in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Saturday’s show time is 7:15 p.m.
