Ohio Volleyball’s Karin Bull Claims MAC Weekly Hardware

Ohio’s Karin Bull helped the 24th-ranked Bobcats (23-4, 16-0 MAC) clinch its second straight Mid-American Conference regular season title last weekend, and earned herself MAC-East offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.

The Bobcats posted a 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-14) sweep of East Division rival Bowling Green on Nov. 14, then swept past rival Miami, 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-15), on Senior Night.

Bull hit at a team-best .545 clip, tallying 19 kills and just one error in 33 attack attempts. The Bloomington, Minn., native racked up a team-high seven assisted blocks over the two matches.

In Friday’s match against Bowling Green, Bull lead the ‘Cats with a match-high 13 kills to equal her 2014 season high. It also marked the fourth time this season she has posted double-digit kills. Bull committed no errors in 22 attack attempts, hitting at a .591 clip.

She continued her strong play through Saturday, leading the match against the RedHawks with five assisted blocks. She has posted five or more total blocks 11 times this season. She also added six kills in the matchup.

Bull leads Ohio with 111.0 total blocks (13 solo, 98 assisted; 1.13 per set) in 2014. She ranks third in the MAC with 1.13 blocks per set and is also attacking at a team-best .348 clip. Bull has tallied 191 kills (1.95 per set) this season to rank third on the team.

In conference play, Bull has totaled a team-high 68.0 total blocks (six solo, 62 assisted) and her 1.19 blocks per set leads the conference. Her .373 attack percentage leads the team and ranks second in the MAC.

Bull ranks 10th in school history with 289 career total blocks and 263 assisted blocks.
