Athens Library To Host Local Author/Illustrator Fair< < Back to
Twenty-one literary and visual artists from the Athens area will display, read aloud and sell their works during the Athens Public Library’s Local Author/Illustrator Fair, a free event scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 29 from 1-3 p.m.
“The Saturday after Thanksgiving is typically a busy day at the Athens Public Library,” said event organizer Amy King, enrichment coordinator for Athens County Public Libraries. “We hope to help the community discover some of the local talent we enjoy in our region. It’s a unique chance to shop locally and support written and visual arts.”
Exhibitors include Cindy Crabb, Gina McNight D’Andrea, Terry Fortkamp, Peggy Gish, Noah Hogan, Lois Kempton, Diane Kinser, Becca J. R. Lachman, Cathy Lentes, Wendy McVicker, Charles Millhouse, Amber Moore, Carolyn Nimberger, Joyce Richardson, Bram Riddlebarger, David Sharpe, Christine Veladota, Charles Whaley, Juliann Whicker, Keith Wilde and Jeff Wilson.
“The energy in the room is sure to be invigorating. A wide array of styles and materials will be on display, from how-to manuals to paintings and chapbooks,” King added. “You’ll have a chance to browse, purchase and talk with the creators. And, of course, get signed pieces and autographs.”
The response from the creative community has been enthusiastic, according to King.
“Twenty-one of 24 display slots are filled, but there is still time to register and participate,” she said.
Registration is required. Contact Amy King at email@example.com or call 740-592-4272 to reserve a display space.
The Athens Public Library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, visit www.MyACPL.org or call 740-592-4272.
