Police say an officer who fatally shot a man in an Ohio Wal-Mart will remain on leave until the government concludes its investigation of the shooting.

Officer Sean Williams was one of two Beavercreek officers whose actions in the racially charged case a special grand jury decided in September were justified.

The Dayton Daily News reported Thursday that the 31-year-old Williams has been on accumulated personal leave since the grand jury decision.

Mark D'Alessandro, an assistant U.S. attorney, told the paper the government's investigation is ongoing.

Williams, who is white, shot 22-year-old John Crawford III, who was black, on Aug. 5 after a 911 caller reported that Crawford was waving what appeared to be a rifle, which turned out to be an air rifle.
