Ohio sophomore guard Quiera Lampkins registered two double-doubles en route to winning Most Valuable Player at the Georgia State Holiday and Hoops Classic, and ultimately landing her the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week Honors.

Lampkins was a key factor for the Bobcats over the past week, as she averaged 15.7 points and 8.3 rebounds in three games.

Against James Madison on Dec. 15, Lampkins played an important role in Ohio’s comeback attempt, as the guard scored 17 points and grabbed two boards. She shot 6 of 13 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free throw line. The Bobcats were unable to win the game however, losing 69-62.

In the first game of the GSU Holiday and Hoops Classic on Dec. 19, Lampkins scored 18 points and registered 11 rebounds. She only shot 3 of 6 from the field, but stepped to the free throw line 16 times, making 12 of them. She led the Bobcats to a 74-63 victory over La Salle.

In the Bobcats final game of the tournament on Dec. 20, Lampkins recorded her second straight double-double. The sophomore guard put up 12 points and 12 rebounds, as she lead Ohio to a 59-52 win over UMass.

Lampkins and the rest of the Bobcats wrap up nonconference play on Monday, Dec. 29 against Cleveland State. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Convo.
