The Lady Tomcats came up short twice this week to Eastern and Southern. The Trimble girls squad (1-7) traveled to Eastern (6-3) on Monday night and took a loss 60-38.

An evenly played first quarter had the Tomcats within striking distance before Eastern ended the first quarter on a 7-0 run. The Eagles dominated the second quarter, leaving Trimble with too much ground to make up in the second half. Although the final two quarters were played rather evenly, Trimble was handed another loss on the season.

Of the 38 Tomcat points, Nikki Kish had 16 and Sydney Hardy dropped 10 of her own.

The Tomcats looked to bounce back Thursday night when hosting Southern (5-2). Trimble lost the game to a dominant Southern Tornadoes girls squad by a score of 53-26 according to trivalleyconference.com.

Kish had another strong showing for the Tomcats and is emerging as a stand out on the Tomcat squad early in the year.

Trimble managed to give the Southern offense some trouble early on with the zone defense, but the Tornado shooters were able to improve their shooting percentages as the game progressed.

The Tomcats were able to contain post play from the Tornadoes, but the Southern backcourt was able to shoot the team to a victory late in the game.

The Lady Tomcats are back in action Monday night when they host Fairfield Christian Academy.

Morgan Murphy missed her second game of the week. Coach Tom Hardy said Murphy will likely be out until the second week of January.
