The Muskingum University Art Department will open an exhibition, Images and Expressions, with a reception on Sunday, Feb. 22 from 2-4 p.m. at the Louis O. Palmer Gallery.

The exhibition, featuring artists who have a Tuscarawas County connection, will run through Thursday, March 19.

Jeannine Kennedy, executive director of the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts, New Philadelphia, organized the exhibition.

“I wanted to use this rare opportunity to involve as many artists as possible and to showcase the talents of those who have a connection with Tuscarawas County as well as the Arts Center. Some of the works assembled are traditional in nature and subject matter (aka realistic) and others are very contemporary (aka cutting edge). The show includes painting, watercolor, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, pastel, photography, sculpture, glass and ceramic works,” said Kennedy, who will offer a lecture, Art Expressions, on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 2-3:15 p.m. at the gallery.

The show will feature artwork by Jeff Beitzel, Jane Brown, Jeff Bryan, Tony Contini, Donn Davis, Sarah Dugger, Jennifer Contini Enderby, Jim Filkorn, Aubrey Gealsha, Jackie Holan, Giuseppe Ionno, Jono Kennedy, William Koch, Skip Limbach, Tom Radca, Kathleen Riley, Mary Griffith Schaffer, Matthew Schindler, Harley Sefert, Bill Shryock, Peggy Sibila, Stephanie Speedy, Susan Cramer Stein, Ginny Stocker, Jon Stucky, Mark Sudduth and Kyle Valentini.

Exhibition hours are Sunday, Feb. 22 from 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 2-3:15 p.m. and Monday through Friday until 4 p.m., by appointment only. The reception, lecture and exhibition are all free and open to the public.
