Yeager Airport officials have installed remote cameras to monitoring a man-made emergency overrun area that partially collapsed in March.

The airport said Wednesday that airport personnel will continuously monitor the slope and a nearby creek.

Earlier this week the Charleston airport said recent movement in the slope hadn’t compromised the creek’s channel and didn’t threaten any properties. The movement was largely contained to the area where the slide occurred.

The airport says workers are installing a second diversion channel in the creek in order to keep water moving.

The emergency overrun area is located at the end of the hillside airport’s runway. The landslide on March 12 took out a church, an unoccupied home, power lines and trees. No injuries were reported.
