CLEVELAND (AP) – Members of about 40 churches marched in downtown Cleveland and called for reform in response to the acquittal of a white patrolman charged in the deaths of two unarmed black motorists.

Dozens of parishioners from the churches making up the Greater Cleveland Congregations marched Tuesday afternoon, chanting “we want justice, we want it now,” and “we can’t wait.” A diverse group of clergy members linked arms to lead the peaceful march.

They said they delivered a letter to the offices of the mayor and county prosecutor calling for a comprehensive plan of criminal justice reform.

A judge on Saturday found Patrolman Michael Brelo not guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the November 2012 deaths of two unarmed motorists in a 137-shot barrage of police gunfire after a high-speed chase.
