Live Healthy Appalachia is presenting an Appalachian Health Summit September 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ohio University Inn and Conference Center in Athens.

The event features regionally and nationally known and respected speakers offering evidence-based approaches for healthcare professionals and educators in the community to promote and identify positive lifestyle changes to aid in healthful aging. The goal of this event is to promote and support healthy living throughout the Appalachian region, with a focus on creating healthy opportunities for people across generations. Learn about improving health outcomes in children, adults, and seniors, with a focus on how to incorporate these approaches into professional practice.

This conference will feature lectures by acclaimed physicians and researchers Dr. John Kopchick, Dr. Peter Whitehouse, Dr. Joel Kahn, and Dr. Jamie Jeffrey. Attendees will learn about improving health outcomes in children, adults, and seniors, with a focus on how to incorporate these approaches into their professional practice. CE/CME credit is pending for nurses, doctors (MD/DO), and community health educators. Lunch will be provided. Speakers, topics, and times subject to change.
