“Uptown for the Holidays” Gingerbread Competition Open for Entries

The third annual “Uptown for the Holidays Gingerbread House Display and Competition” is now open for entries online at athensgingerbread.com.

New this year is a prize category for children’s groups. Children may use kits for their creations.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Athens County Convention and Visitors Bureau, prize money has increased to a total of $2200 in eight different categories. Two grand prizes of $500 each will be awarded in addition to six first prizes of $200 awarded in other categories.

The entry deadline is Nov. 2 with entries to be delivered on Dec. 1 to the Athens County Historical Society and Museum, 65 North Court Street.

All entries will be on display at the Athens Historical Museum from Dec. 2-30.
