Five Softball Players Named All-American Scholar Athletes

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association named five Ohio softball players All-American Scholar Athletes. Sam Bowlsbey, Madison Claytor, Adrienne Gebele, Raven King and Taylor Saxton all received this award for academic excellence.

Bowlsbey, a senior outfielder, recorded a 3.644 GPA in Sports Management. Junior Claytor led the ‘Cats with a 3.765 GPA in Pre-Sport Management, while Saxton, a redshirt- sophomore, was also granted for her 3.747 GPA in Pre-Sport Management. Graduates of last season’s team Gebele and King were also awarded. Gebele received a 3.753 GPA in her final year as an Applied Nutrition major. King brought in a 3.683 as a Civil Engineering Major in her last year as a Bobcat. King also led the team with eight homeruns and a slugging percentage of .513.

All five players were active members of last year’s 15-32 team. The team recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.317.
