Interim Lancaster Festival Executive Director Named

The Lancaster Festival has announced David Gallimore as the interim executive director as the festival’s Search and Long Range committee evaluates its needs moving forward.

Joe Piccolo announced his resignation in mid-October after a successful transitional year.

“Much like last year’s brief interim period, I will continue to do my best to support the mission and tradition of the Lancaster Festival,” Gallimore said.

Gallimore was the interim executive director in 2014 after the resignation of long-time executive director, Lou Ross. He has been an advocate and leader in the Lancaster community for many years, including most recently, as the interim economic director for Fairfield County.

The Lancaster Festival Search and Long Range Committee has begun a review to determine the best next steps. Inaugurated in 1985, the Lancaster Festival is a multi-faceted, 10-day event that transforms the historic city of Lancaster, Ohio, with musical performances and family activities while getting local businesses, museums and residents involved. With the help of nearly 800 volunteers and the support of corporate and individual donors, service contributors and program advertisers, the annual festival supports the local economy as well as the local arts.
