The Eastern Lady Eagles snagged two wins this week in their games against Miller and South Gallia. After a close 60-45 loss last week against Southern, the team wanted to turn things around.

The Lady Eagles started the week off on a good note, dominating Miller 59-33 on Dec. 7. Motivation from the previous week translated onto the court, allowing the Lady Eagles to run off and showcase their talent. It carried over to their Dec. 10 game against South Gallia.

Eastern jumped out ahead early in their 47-33 victory over the Lady Rebels.  The Lady Eagles played well offensively with multiple players seeing time. Laura Pullins led scoring, dropping 25 points and notching six rebounds.  Madison Williams also pitched in, adding eight points for the Lady Eagles.

The Lady Eagles hoped to use the energy to knock down rising TVC powerhouse Vinton County. However, it wasn’t enough, with the Lady Eagles losing 48-38 on Dec. 12.

Head coach Burdette mentioned the team plans to work on developing ball handling skills. The team also wants to be smarter with its plays, hoping the practice will translate into next week’s contests.

Eastern (3-2) face another tough, three game week. The Lady Eagles travel to Belpre on Dec. 14 and River Valley on Dec. 17. They then wrap up on Dec. 19 at home against Wahama.
