CHILLICOTHE – A public employee has been accused of faking records and stealing time after an investigation resulted in multiple charges against her.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, an Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections employee was allegedly tampering with time records.

The Chillicothe Gazette reports that charges of theft, falsification, and tampering with records – all misdemeanors – were filed on Dec. 18, against 41-year-old Amanda Sutherland in the Chillicothe Municipal Court. Sutherland worked with the Adult Parole Authority and held a satellite office at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution.

Sutherland allegedly altered ODRC sign-in logs and received payment for hours that she did not work.

The incidents of the alleged falsified records date back to Sept. 1. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on March 11, 2016.
