OUL Theatre Presents The Wizard of Oz July 24 – Aug. 7
< < Back to oul-theatre-presents-the-wizard-of-oz-july-24-aug-7This summer the Ohio University Lancaster Theatre will be performing a musical theatre adaptation of the classic film The Wizard of Oz in the recently renovated Wagner Theatre. This is OUL Theatre’s yearly community theatre event and the sixth season that it has been featured during the Lancaster Festival. The musical features local talent with a cast of 40 actors, 20 local musicians, and a special effects fly team of six.
Rehearsals are underway and tickets are currently available for $15 with reserved seating. The show dates are July 24 at 2 P.M. and 7 P.M.; August 4, 5 at 7 P.M.; August 6 at 2 P.M. and 7 P.M.; August 7 at 2 P.M.; Ohio University Lancaster ASL Interpreters will be on hand for this performance.
Guest artist and aerial choreographer for this production is Jason Whicker, co-owner/president of On the FLY Productions LLC. On the FLY Productions LLC has recently been involved in the choreography for the Mothman Dance that was seen recently on America’s Got Talent Season Nine. On the FLY Productions LLC has also produced choreography for other musicals including “American Idiot” on Broadway and Angels: The Musicals. He has also performed aerial choreography for Wrigley’s 5 Gum commercials and various productions around the world.
