The Ohio Bobcats (1-1) lost their second game of the season as they fall to the Indiana Hoosiers 3-2 in overtime on Sunday at Pruitt Field.

The Bobcats held a two-goal lead early on in the game but couldn’t hold on to their lead.

With Ohio up 2-1 late in the second half, it was looking like the Bobcats was going to take home their second consecutive win, until Indiana’s Mollie Getzfread and Maddie Latino assisted Barber on her second goal with less than a minute to go in the game.

In overtime, Barber scored her third goal of the game to hand Ohio their first loss of the season.

The Bobcats took an early lead when senior Kristen Buchanan fired a shot into the goal off of an offensive corner five minutes into the game to make the score 1-0.

They doubled their lead and went up 2-0 when sophomore Kendall Ballard fired the ball up the middle past Indiana’s sophomore goalkeeper Noelle Rother.

After that second goal, the Bobcats were quiet for the rest of the game.

Indiana cut the deficit in half when senior Kate Barber scored off of an offensive corner for her first of three goals. She was assisted by Morgan Dye.

It was a slow second half for both teams until the very end. The Hoosiers had a chance to tie up the game 15 minutes into the half after they were awarded a penalty shot, but they couldn’t capitalize yet.

Indiana had plenty of opportunities throughout the second half, but the Bobcats defense stood their ground and looked impressive. Ohio’s goalkeeper Lina Trucco had four saves in the second half alone. She had a very impressive stick save late in the game to prevent Indiana from tying it up at that point.

Ohio will look to get back in the win column on Friday when they host U.C. Davis in Athens at 5 p.m.
