There’s nothing like a good Contra dance to get the blood flowing as the temperatures in Athens start to drift downward. ARTS/West will be providing a place for Contra dancing throughout the next couple of months. Check out these photos taken by WOUB’s Carolyn Rogers from this weekend’s dance and the schedule of dances below.

Saturday night Contra dances: 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. with a beginners lesson at 7:30 p.m. No experience needed, no partner needed and everyone is welcome. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for students, $15 for families, children 10 and under free.

Sunday afternoon family dances: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of dancing and music. This event will have kids and adults dancing together to live music. No experience needed. All dances will be taught. Drop in any time. Admission by donation. Suggested donation $3/dancer.
