The Division of Film, and the Athena Cinema present the U.S. Premiere of The Constitution, an award winning feature film by OHIO Eminant Scholar in Film, Rajko Grlić, Nov. 15, 7 p.m. at the Athena Cinema in Athens.

Ruth Bradley will introduce the film, and a champagne toast with the director will follow the screening. This celebratory event is free and open to the public.

The Constitution, which Grlić directed and co-wrote with Ante Tomić, and filmed in Croatia, was produced by Zagreb’s Inter Film.

This film is the winner of the 2016 Montreal World Film Festival’s prestigious Grand Prix of the Americas.

The film presents four very different people living in the same building but avoiding each other because of their differences.

Eventually, their lives entangle in ways that profoundly challenge deep-held beliefs and prejudices surrounding material status, sexual orientation, nationality and religion.

This event is a fundraiser for Departure, a feature film being created by four M.F.A. thesis candidates in Grlić’s master class at Ohio University. You can donate via cash, check or credit card at the reception.
