Athens based concert production company A Town Roots is happy to be bringing some local favorites and up–and–comers to The Venue of DRXVMS (pronounced DREAMS) on Saturday, Nov. 19. The concert will feature Bright at Night from Athens and The Turkish Royals from Columbus.

Influenced by the diverse likes of Marvin Gaye, George Clinton, Johnny Cash and The Doors, Bright at Night is one of Athens, Ohio’s most eclectic groups. Fronted by Athenian favorite Emerson B, the group crosses many genres to create music that can only be described as “soul-hip-shakin’ phonic lovemakin’.” Expect acoustic rhythms, soulful vocals, dirty basslines and funky guitar licks from this danceable group.

The Turkish Royals are a bit newer to Ohio music, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t already made a name for themselves. The reggae rockers have been constantly playing shows around central and northeast Ohio and have already been booked to play with some national touring acts.

The Venue of DRXVMS is located at 13 West Stimson Ave. in Athens. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. and cover will be $5.
