The School of Art and Design presents an exhibition of the first-year graduate students who have recently finished their first semester at Ohio University. “From There to Here” will be on view Jan. 17–Feb. 18 in the Trisolini Gallery located on the fourth floor of the Baker Center.

This exhibition features eleven different artists, providing a range of exploration from each individual. OHIO’s diverse School of Art + Design offers programs in painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography and graphic design, while allowing each student to explore inter-disciplinary fields and study a large spectrum of visual artistry. “From There to Here,” welcomes the New Year with a strong collective effort, a must-see exhibition of fine art and design in the city of Athens.

Each of the 11 artists featured in the exhibition arrived from a variety of places (there) and have all been given the opportunity to develop in a shared environment of creative research (here) at Ohio University. With this opportunity in mind, the works in the exhibition provide a sampling of the variety of concepts and art-making methods being explored by the graduate studio art class of 2019.

Featured artists include Molly Allen, Maryam Khaleghiyazd, Luke Boyd, Andrew McNamara, Madison Hager, Angela Mendoza, Ekaterina Izmestyeva, Levon Miller, Adam Jennett, Sam Smith and Burga Kantar.

A reception will be held on Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. and offers a chance to meet and greet the exhibiting artists in the Trisolini Gallery at Baker Center.

Trisolini Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday–Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. Please find up-to-date information and photos on our Facebook page @ohiouniversityartgalleries.
