Athens based concert production company A–Town Roots is extremely excited to be bringing music back to Jackie O’s. It is only proper that legendary psychedelic/jam rock band Ekoostik Hookah would be performing, along with Columbus young guns Love Alive. The concert will be held this Friday, Jan. 20.

When it comes to the Midwest jam band world, Ekoostik Hookah is undoubtedly the pioneering band of the scene. Forming in Columbus in 1991, the band has gone from playing smoky bar basements to stages all across America and even overseas. Their fusion of psychedelic and jam rock has led them to share the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, and Warren Haynes of The Allman Brothers Band. Over the years, the band has also performed at huge festivals like Bonnaroo, Summer Camp, Wakarusa and Gathering of the Vibes.

Going into their 26th year as a band, the quintet has yet to slow down. They still tour constantly around Ohio, and you can see them at a plethora of Midwest festivals every summer, including their annual Hookahville. When seeing the band live, expect a high-energy show, full of improvisation, shredding guitar, and an unforgettable fusion of rock, blues, bluegrass, folk and more.

Opening the show will be rising Columbus act, Love Alive. This dynamic group has been turning heads in the scene over the last few years with their impressive musical spectacle. The quintet blends psychedelic influences into hard a heavy rock sound, but soothes it out with serene, soulful vocals. Aside from a four night run in Colorado this past summer and shows all around Ohio, they also appeared at both The Werk Out & Paradise Music & Arts Festivals this past year.

Advance $10 tickets can be purchased here.
