The Nelsonville-York Lady Buckeyes drew the No. 4 seed for the Division III tournament.  Nelsonville-York will see Crooksville on Saturday at Athens High School.

Preview: This game will be won by the guards. Jessie Addis will face up against 5’10” point guard Carson Miller. Crooksville will also have a decent amount of experience on the court with seven upperclassmen on the team. The Lady Ceramics bring good size with Miller (5’10″) Mackenzie Leroy ( 5’8”) and Lacey Ebert (5’9”) which will give the Lady Buckeyes trouble on the boards. The Lady Buckeyes are still the faster team and maybe even the better team but they should definitely not take this game for granted.

What the Buckeyes need to do to make a run: The Buckeyes can make a run if they utilize their depth. The Lady Buckeyes have been one of the deepest teams in the Tri-Valley Conference this year and they will need that if they want to get past the second round. Camrin Dupler knows how to get open but she’s got to make her shots count. While Sam Taylor and Mary Kate McCullough need to continue to be a force on defense. Addis is always good for a double digit game but if they want to get past No. 1 seeded Eastern Brown, more Buckeyes need to get buckets.

Why they might struggle: The Buckeyes have not shown their offensive firepower in the last few weeks. The Buckeyes have won this year by relentless defensive and clutch scoring.  However, against offensive juggernauts like Alexander they were left in the dust, and possible second round opponent, Eastern Brown, is definitely an offensive juggernaut.
