Ohio weather finally seems to be heating up so is conference play as the Bobcats (19-6) kick off a three-game series against Toledo (12-20).

Senior pitcher Savannah Jo Dorsey has been cruising lately and will have a fascinating matchup against the Rockets’ Chandler Rice who is batting .400 with 20 RBI on the season.

Toledo’s record indicates their inconsistencies. They have failed to string together more than two wins in a row this year. The Bobcats come into today off a tournament sweep in Charleston, South Carolina, where Dorsey limited a strong South Carolina Upstate team to only two runs while Alex Day provided the sole three runs Ohio put on the scoreboard.

Dorsey also shutout Western Carolina over five innings in a 10-0 Bobcat victory and only allowed one run in seven innings in a 2-1 win against the College of Charleston. Toledo must turn on their afterburners if they want to beat a team that has been very solid outside of a minor losing skid a few weeks ago.

The ‘Cats first pitch will be at the Ohio Softball Field, which features new seats for fans to enjoy, this afternoon at 5 p.m. Tomorrow’s doubleheader is at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
