Allen Richmond, an adjunct music faculty member at Ohio University-Chillicothe, is conducting the orchestra for the Chillicothe Civic Theater’s production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas at the Majestic Theater.

Richmond, who joined the OU-C faculty in 2009, earned his bachelor’s degree of music in theory/composition, cum laude, from Ohio University and his master’s degree in orchestral/choral conducting, summa cum laude, from the Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

The 13th Annual Lennon Fest will take place Saturday, Dec. 8 at The Union and Jackie O's Pub and Brewery in Athens.

The event, which celebrates the music of John Lennon and The Beatles, raises money for the Johnny B Fund, established in 2000 to help young local musicians pay for lessons.

This Friday, Jackie O's Pub and Brewery will host "The Concert For Weldy," who was recently diagnosed with stage four sarcoma cancer.

The Ohio University School of Music has announced the upcoming concert "Gloria! Holiday Music from Russia and Beyond," presented by the OU Symphony Orchestra and combined Choirs, Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. in Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

This program, the first holiday concert presented by the School of Music in a generation, will also feature guest conductor Mihai Agafita.

One of the world's top indie-rock bands and a legendary folk singer-songwriter will grace the main stage at next year's Nelsonville Music Festival.

Grammy-winning acts Wilco and John Prine will headline the 2013 fest, being held May 30-June 2 on the Hocking College campus.

Word of the announcement spread quickly overnight on social media, according to Stuart's Opera House Marketing and Promotions Coordinator Brian Koscho.

This Saturday is the six-month midpoint to the Nelsonville Music Festival and Stuart's Opera House is celebrating in style.

For the first time, Stuart’s is hosting a bash at Rollerbowl Lanes in Athens, complete with live local music, beer, a raffle and of course, bowling.
