The Chesterhill Harvest Festival returns to Morgan County this Saturday, promising a full day of live music, food, crafts, horse-drawn wagon rides and more.

The event, now in its 8th year, is the largest--and most important--fundraiser for the Union Hall Theater, according to Union Hall Programming Coordinator John Wetzel.

Stuart’s Opera House will welcome David Wax Museum for a special backstage show on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. North Carolina group Bombadil will open the evening.

David Wax Museum graced Stuart's stage in 2012 as an opener for the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Most recently, they thrilled fans with performances at the 2013 Nelsonville Music Festival.

Affordable, local and a host of entertainment, including Waylon Jenning’s grandson — all this makes for a big weekend in Glouster for the Second Annual Appalachian Color in the Hills Festival coming up Oct. 4-6.

The helicopter rides are back, with food and crafts throughout. But the biggest draw, as it was last year in the festival’s debut, is the music.

On Sept. 18, 2013, WOUB Music Director Mark Hellenberg set out for Nashville, Tenn., home of the annual Americana Music Festival.

Over the course of four days, he took in numerous performances and industry panel discussions, squeezed his way into over-capacity clubs and dodged thousands of pre-teen Taylor Swift fans (and their mothers).

Stuart’s Opera House concludes its 2013 Free Summer Concert Series on Friday, Sept. 27 with up-and-coming Americana artist Nora Jane Struthers and her band The Party Line. Held in conjunction with Nelsonville's Final Fridays celebration, the concert will take place in the Stuart's parking lot at 7 p.m.

This Thursday will be a homecoming of sorts for The Burning River Ramblers, a Cleveland-based rock/funk group with Ohio University roots.

The band will host a release party for its sophomore album, To Color a Fool, at The Union with two local up-and-coming groups, The Whole Hearted Half Wits and Fathers of the Revolution.

Area country music fans will be in for a Halloween treat when Kacey Musgraves' "Same Trailer, Different Tour" rolls into Athens on Oct. 31. The singer-songwriter, who is currently up for six CMA Awards, will perform at OU's Memorial Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
