Businesses in our region need all the help they can get to develop and prosper. And in Hocking County they're getting aid from the Community Improvement Corporation. The CIC's office is filled with plans, blueprints and diagrams, all outlining projects aimed at creating more jobs. Director Bill Rhinehart says he wants to bring all kinds of employment to Hocking County. "We're working so hard to bring manufacturing jobs back here, that's the kind of buildings we have," said Rhinehart. "At the same time, like every community, we're looking for the high-tech jobs. it's kind of the wave of the future. We're marketing toward those types of jobs." Joe Murtha, president of the CIC, says the organization has been busy lately with more businesses looking for a place to call home. "We, as a matter of fact, just developed a 52-acre industrial park," said Murtha. "It has been a five-six year project to expand utilities to that site. We received most of the financing from the federal government for this project, although our part was in the millions." The CIC has been around for 40 years attracting and retaining businesses, and providing job opportunities for the people of Hocking County. Visit the Logan-Hocking
