Educational Technology for Southeastern Ohio (eTSEO) is a public, nonprofit corporation governed by school administrators and funded entirely by member school districts and the eTech|Ohio Commission. eTSEO is the source for media-rich, Ohio Academic Standards-based K-12 content and technology professional development in this region of Ohio.

In partnership with Ohio University, the WOUB Center for Public Media, and eTech|Ohio:

We provide multimedia-on-demand content for K-12 education from PowerMediaPlus.com, Teachers Domain, Ohio Chalkwaves, CET Connect, eSchool News TV and other sources.

Recent free multimedia content for teaching and learning produced with grants from the eTech|Ohio Commission in collaboration with the WOUB Center for Public Media include:

Projects in development for this academic year include three special distance learning events for teachers focusing on Differentiated Learning, and a social studies website featuring video, teaching resources and an interactive game for students in grades 4-6 on the history of southeastern Ohio.

A Message from the eTSEO Executive Director

Based on the concept that "Media-On-Demand Is Curriculum-At-Your-Command," eTSEO continues to offer a wide range of multimedia content for K-12 teacher and learning. Chalkwaves Ohio, PowerMediaPlus and Teachers Domain provide teachers with over 70,000 multimedia components, including videos, podcasts, concept clips, audio files, still images and print resources. Most importantly, thanks to funding from eTech|Ohio and the support of the WOUB Center for Public Media and Ohio University, subscriptions to PowerMediaPlus and Teachers Domain are free to every school district in the eTSEO/WOUB region.

We are pleased to introduce an exciting new web-based resource for teaching: OurClassSpace was developed for eTSEO by New Vista Concepts and has a growing base of users throughout the state.

OurClassSpace is a safe Virtual, Collaborative Learning Environment designed to improve collaboration, communication and interaction among all the stakeholders in education. OurClassSpace is three products in one.

1.It is a virtual classroom learning environment. Teachers can use Web 2.0 tools to interact with students, parents, administrators and colleagues (within a school, district, or across the world).

2.It is a virtual professional development environment. Collaborate on creating resources with other educators, within a school, district, or among numerous schools/districts.

3.It is a repository of educator-created and reviewed learning resources, to which every user can contribute, improve upon, and implement in their teaching. Teachers can make their materials public on OurClassSpace for use by other educators. Submitted materials can be enhanced and improved upon by OurClassSpace users, thereby improving the resources for everyone in the system.

OurClassSpaceprovides the perfect means to take advantage of investments being made in one-to-one computing by allowing teachers and students to easily collaborate with one another in the new paradigm of the read-write World Wide Web. OurClassSpace is available on a subscription basis with a significant discount for member districts participating in the eTSEO Enhanced Services.

Member districts participating in the eTSEO Enhanced Services have free access to eSchool News TV, a commercial-free Internet video service covering ed tech news and information, including eSN-TV's critically acclaimed TechWatch newscast and the brand-new Visions of Innovation show, eSN-TV programming for educators and education advocates is commercial free and copyright cleared. eSchool News TV covers education technology in all its aspects - from legislation and litigation, to case studies, to purchasing practices and new products.

Having problems keeping up with network and computer systems maintenance and upgrades? We have a solution! Josh Kolbe, CEO of Matrix J Technologies and IT systems consultant for eTSEO for the past five years, is available to assist your district or school technology staff with hardware/software installation and upgrades, and systems maintenance in general. For a complete listing of services, go to www.matrixj.com and click on the Education tab. The hourly or daily fee rate is very reasonable, and satisfaction is guaranteed. A three-day advance notice is required for scheduling purposes.

Instructional video programming for the curriculum and professional development will continue to be available on a non-broadcast basis as listed in this catalog. School districts enrolled in the eTSEO Enhanced Services will have free access to this programming from the Video Duplication Center (VDC). Please note: ITV programming listed in this catalog is not available through the PowerMediaPlus media-on-demand service.
