Athens County Children Services will be hosting an informational meeting for people interested or have questions about becoming a foster and/or adoptive parent in Athens County. The informational meeting will be Thursday, August 25, at 6:00 pm, at Athens County Children Services, Building 14.
Meet some of the dedicated staff, and have your questions answered about how to become a foster and/or adoptive parent. There is no obligation to move forward. Light refreshments will be provided.
Athens County foster families not only provide children with temporary homes, safety and nurturing, but they also help birth families by ensuring children can be safely reunited with them. When reunification is not possible, many foster families choose to adopt the children who have been placed in their homes. This offers permanency and stability that the children may not otherwise know.
