Growing American Ginseng: Insights, Methods, & Opportunities

August 8 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

| $35

A day-long workshop providing introductory and advanced instruction on the cultivation and management of wild-simulated ginseng as a forest crop. This event will feature a presentation by retired Cornell University Extension Agent and American ginseng specialist, Bob Beyfuss. Mr. Beyfuss is a highly experienced ginseng grower, and is currently the Vice President of Bounty America Pharm, one of the largest wild-simulated ginseng farms in the United States. This will be a great opportunity for new and experienced growers to learn from some of the most experienced ginseng professionals in the region. We will also feature presentations and field sessions led by Chip Carroll, owner of WoodlandWise Botanicals and farm manager at United Plant Savers Godlenseal Sanctuary, and Tanner Filyaw, Non-Timber Forest Products Specialist with Rural Action’s Sustainable Forestry Program.
