Ohio University field hockey fell 1-0 to Robert Morris University Friday afternoon, marking the first time the women have lost in 2011.

RMU’s Michelle Lewthwaite scored the winning and only goal of the match in overtime for the Colonials.

Ohio's offense, led by Cathryn Altdoerffer, Andrea Biegalski, and Taylor Brown attempted 16 shots in regulation, eight of which were saved by RMU goalkeeper Erin Mckenzie.

Lewthwaite, RMU's hero, missed one shot in regular match time, but connected on a goal in the 74th minute to send Ohio to its first loss of the season. Lewthwaite's goal came off a corner, which was a stat Ohio dominated (Ohio led in corners 12-2).

Ohio (6-1) started the game ranked 15th in the country, the highest ranking for Ohio since 2007. RMU (3-4) didn’t make the national coaches poll.

Ohio will take on Indiana University this Saturday afternoon at home in Athens hoping to extend their record to 7-1.
