How the role of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund has changed

Professor Mundell will explain why we have an economic crisis in Mexico, Asia and Russia. He says the reason is the change from fixed to fluctuating exchange rates that began in 1971. Since then, we have had problems managing economic crises that we didn't have before. Mundell favors a return to the fixed exchange rates.
