Associated PressInternational Reporters from Associated Press

Most of us take for granted the wealth of information we have available about foreign affairs. Particularly when a war breaks out, Americans know the details almost immediately. But where do these details come from? From journalists who risk their lives to tell us.

This week, intouch features three international correspondents who have worked for the Associated Press in the Middle East through the war-torn years in Lebanon, Israel, Iraq, and Iran. Eileen Powell, G. G. Labelle, and Nick Tatro share with intouch host, Janice Windborne, the gritty details of being a war correspondent, along with vignettes from their own experiences.

What is it like to be a Western woman journalist in a traditional Muslim country? How do foreign journalists get the word out when war is raging? Could there actually be times when it's just fun? The answers are startling, and informative.
