Kelee Riesbeck talks with Harry Greenfield, who currently holds the Robert and Rene' Glidden Visiting Professorship at Ohio University. Mr. Greenfield is a 1967 alumnus of Ohio University and received his law degree in 1970. He has worked in business bankruptcy, restructuring, and commercial law for most of his 45 years in practice. WOUB Blogger, career consultant and executive coach Beverly Jones thinks meeting organizers can make business meetings more effective with some key planning ahead of time.

Meetings need to have tight agendas and all participants need to know a meeting’s purpose and their roles within the meeting.

Jones also says gives tips on how attendees can be more engaged and less distracted by their portable technology.

If meetings are better organized and attendees are more engaged, then meetings will be far more productive and less wasteful of everyone’s time, Jones says.

Personal memories of growing up in Athens are being collected currently by a committee of local residents.  The memories are being gathered for eventual publication in a book to highlight childhood remembrances of Athenians of all ages.

The project is being led by a committee of Linda Philips, Jan Hodson, Janice Huwe, Mary Diles, Bosha Green, Andrew Chiki, Paige Alost and Tom O’Grady.  The project is co-sponsored by the Athens Community Arts, Parks and Recreation Department and the Athens County Historical Society and Museum.
