Host Wendy McVicker is joined by local author, Howard D. Beebe, to talk about his new fantasy novel entitled, "Wysteria". From his website, Howard details the book as "a speculative adventure set in the realm of lucid dreams". Howard delves into his inspiration for the work, and reads the opening passages.

A long-time resident of Athens, Ohio, Howard graduated from Ohio University (in Athens) with BA and MA degrees in Philosophy. He currently teaches Shotokan Karate and is an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Elizabeth Becker, renowned journalist and author, recently testified as an expert witness at the Khmer Rouge Genocide Tribunal to details atrocities she saw while being a reporter in Cambodia in the 1970’s.

She testified for the prosecution against two living accused war criminals from the time when the Khmer Rouge ruled Cambodia. During four years in power, the Khmer Rouge killed over two million people, about one-fourth of the Cambodian population, according to Becker.

“Born to Die” is the ominous title of Visual Communication alumna Sue Morrow’s documentary about abandoned foals in the equine industry and the efforts of Athens County-based Last Chance Corral to save them.

Morrow, an assistant multimedia director, on leave from the Sacramento Bee newspaper is in Athens County capturing more video and conducting additional interviews.

Brian Unger, a WOUB alumnus, has been a major success in television since leaving Ohio University. Now he is about to launch yet another new show – Time Traveling with Brian Unger on the Travel Channel.

Unger is known to be a media innovator.

This new show brings to light little know historical facts about American cities and places.  Unger said the show is “funformative” and a “historic thrill ride.”  He also says it is where the past and present collide.
