Kelee Riesbeck hosts Dr. Wendy Doniger and Dr. Brian Collins to the show where they discuss Doniger's upcoming lecture, "Blasphemy and Censorship in India, Past and Present," part of OHIO's College of Arts and Science's Gawande Lecture Series. Doniger, a professor at the University of Chicago, is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest and most original scholars of Hinduism. Assistant Professor of Classics and World Religions Collins is the Drs. Ram and Sushila Gawande Chair in Indian Religion and Philosophy and founder of the lecture series. The lecture is November 3 at 7 p.m.

George Eberts hosts an astronomy talk with guest Bob Eichenberg. Mercury, the closest planet to the sun, is visible in the early morning hours from mid-October through early-November, and is quite the sight in the sky. The two also talk about the astronomical relationship between the Red Planet, Mars, and the star Antares, and the upcoming Orionid meteor shower on the night of October 20-21.

Rob McCracken is one of the newest members of the E.W. Scripps’ team. He joined the company in April 2014 as the Director of Digital Solutions.

He leads a small team that works with the company’s leadership to develop and implement new digital strategies.

McCracken says that his group is an in-house research and development unit to anticipate future digital needs and provide corporate leaders with ways of meeting those needs.

He joined WOUB’s Tom Hodson in a fascinating conversation about the future of media and advertising.
