From Silent Spring to Silent Night: A Tale of Toads and Men is the lecture Dr. Tyrone B. Hayes will be giving for Ohio University's Frontiers in Science Lecture Series.

A renowned biologist from the University of California, Berkley, Dr. Hayes became well known when he became the target of persecution from chemical manufacturer Syngenta, after his discovery of the altered reproductive developments it causes in frogs.

Athens County Children's Services has teamed up with Athens County Bando & Kickboxing Club to raise money to support the "Lace Up For Kids" Project and Athens Bando facility improvements. Club teacher Pat Gryszka and event coordinator Robin Webb talk with host/kickboxing student Ann Kyle about the importance of Project that allows for children to sign up for a pair of good shoes, along with their joint effort of promoting community health and wellness in Athens. The fun run/walk will begin behind the East State Street CVS on East Park Drive.

Dr. Harry W. Greene is a professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at Cornell University, where he is the leading expert in snakes and reptiles. He came to Ohio University to speak in the Kennedy Lecture Series under the topic, "Natural history and aesthetics: why should we care about nature?"
