Veteran journalist and Ohio University alumnus Andy Alexander just returned from Turkey where he was part of a  committee of journalists to meet with Turkish officials, including the president, about freedom of press issues and how to improve conditions for journalists in that country.

Alexander was part of a group of American journalists representing the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the International Press Institute (IPI).

Host Kelee Riesbeck talks with Ohio University’s Russ Professor of Chemical Engineering and Director of the Institute for Corrosion and Multiphase Flow Technology Srdjan Nesic and The Athena Cinema’s Operations Director Alex Kamoday about the upcoming Science On Screen event at The Athena. The theater will screen P.T. Anderson’s "There Will Be Blood” on October 14 at 7 p.m. Nesic will host a discussion after the screening about his research in oil pipeline erosion and oil industry best practices. This event is free and open to the public.

Tom Walker of National Alliance on Mental Illness: Athens sits down with Stephen Owens, psychologist with the Veterans Affairs clinic in Athens, to discuss his experiences with veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. Dr. Owens talks about the physiology of our adaptive brain and his methods in treating veterans with PTSD.
