On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, host Tom Hodson talks with Bob Deans, the associate director of communications and chief spokesperson for the National Resources Defense Council.

Deans has served as White House correspondent for Cox Media, chief Asia correspondent for the Atlantic Journal Constitution, as well as the president of the White House Correspondent’s Association.

Deans has also authored a number of books dealing with environmental issues, his latest is entitled, Reckless: The Political Assault on the American Environment.

Valentour and Ajamian discuss the importance of a grains and beans diet, building local food networks and what it means to be an organic farmer.

“It’s really important for us to start to incorporate grains and beans more into our diet and also try to build and support local food systems that have grains and beans and oil seed as part of it”, says Ajamian.
