Ohio fell short in the weekend home opener against archrival Miami (OH) Thursday evening.

In a day that the Bobcats (27-26, 15-10 MAC) struggled to piece together hits, Miami used a wild sixth inning to grab a 5-2 victory at Bob Wren Stadium.

Ohio completed a weekend series sweep of the Akron Zips on Sunday with a 3-2 victory in Akron.  With the win, Ohio improved its record to 26-25 on the season. 

The Federal Hocking Lancers beat the Nelsonville York Buckeyes 3-0 on Saturday to win the sectional championship today thanks to great pitching, key hitting and a little luck.

The Ohio Bobcats escaped another close game with Akron on Saturday, pulling out a 9-8 victory over the Zips.
