The Athens community is invited to join Scott Freiman on “A Trip through Strawberry Fields” at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 9 in Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

Ohio University will wrap up its 2014-15 Kennedy Lecture Series on Monday by welcoming Freiman to the Athens Campus for a multimedia journey into the studio with The Beatles.

A composer, producer and music educator, Freiman is known for combining his love of The Beatles with his own music experiences to deliver unique and often sold-out lectures about the Fab Four.

His March 9 presentation will include rare audio and video from recording sessions for The Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields Forever.”

Freiman is CEO of Qwire, a technology company that creates collaborative, cloud-based tools for individuals who create, supply and manage music for film and television. In his presentation, Freiman will draw on “Deconstructing The Beatles,” a series of multimedia presentations he created in 2009 about the composition and production techniques used by the Fab Four.

All Kennedy Lecture Series presentations are free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Established in 1962 by a gift from Ohio University alumni and stalwart supporters Edwin L. and Ruth Kennedy, the Kennedy Lecture Series aims to bring speakers who appeal to a broad cross-section of the OHIO community to the Athens Campus to discuss significant issues in American life.
