The Mid-American Conference announced Sunday that D.J. Cooper has been awarded his fifth MAC East Division Player of the Week of this season.

The Ohio guard was honored as the final MAC Player of the Week of the 2012-13 regular season after Cooper averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals against Buffalo and Miami.

The senior led the Bobcats to a perfect 2-0 record last week, which also gave them a share of the MAC Regular Season title, the first in 19 years for Ohio.

Cooper also made history last week, becoming the first player in NCAA history with 2,000 points, 900 assists, 600 rebounds and 300 steals. His eight three-pointers also broke Tommy Freeman’s Ohio record of career makes.

Against Buffalo, Cooper had 24 points, including a deep three pointer late in the game that boosted Ohio to the victory. Cooper had 17 points, five rebounds and two assists against Miami on Senior Day.

Cooper and the Bobcats will begin the MAC Tournament Friday in the semifinals with their opponent still to be determined. The game will be televised on SportsTime Ohio live from the Quicken Loans Arena at 9 p.m.
