Both the boy’s and the girl’s teams opened up conference play this week and came away victorious in all four games.

The Lady Eagles continued to stay undefeated on the season, and on Monday dominated South Gallia on the road. Eastern had its best defensive performance of the year, giving up only 12 points all game, and winning 55-12. This was also the largest scoring margin, 43, the Lady Eagles have had on the young season.

Eastern was led by Madison Williams who had 16 points on the night, while Becca Pullins and Laura Pullins both scored in double digits. On top of that, eight different Lady Eagles managed to score on the night.

Then on Thursday, Eastern returned home to beat Southern by 28 points, 65-37. The Lady Eagles surpassed their season high in points scored by four points.

This was a special game for one Lady Eagle; Laura Pullins scored 24 points, and joined the 1,000-point club in Reedsville.

Madison Williams also had a big night as she racked up 17 points.

The Lady Eagles have gotten off to an extremely impressive start to the season, but face stiff competition in the coming week. Eastern faces off against defending TVC Hocking champion and state champion Waterford on December 17, then travel to Wahama on December 19, and finish off the week with a trip to Belpre on December 22.

Switching over to the boys side of the court, the Eagles eased past Federal Hocking 50 to 32 this past Tuesday.

Then on Friday, Eastern defeated Wahama by a score of 66-47. This was the Eagles biggest margin of victory, passing the 18-point margin in the game before.

For a team that only returned one starter from last year, having a three and two record on the year is something special to talk about.

Unlike the girl’s who have a very busy week, the boys only have one game in the upcoming week and that is a trip to Belpre on December 20.

All in all, it was a very impressive week for both the boy’s and the girl’s out in Reedsville, and both teams will continue to stay hot heading into the holiday season.
