A former Ohio University basketball player charged with gross sexual imposition appeared in court this morning.

19-year old Reginald R. Williams II posted bond at Athens County Municipal Court earlier Wednesday after his initial appearance. Ohio University Police arrested him Tuesday and charged him with a fourth-degree felony after a 19-year old female student told police she received unwanted sexual contact from Williams without her consent. Court documents show the incident occurred over the weekend in Wilson Hall.

Statistics from the Ohio University athletics website state Williams played in seven games last season. He will be back in court on Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.


An Ohio University student has been accused of gross sexual imposition on the Athens campus. Ohio University Police arrested 19-year old Reginald R. Williams II yesterday and charged him with a fourth-degree felony. A police report states a 19-year old female student told authorities she received unwanted forced sexual contact from Williams. A police report states the incident occurred at Wilson Hall on the school’s West Green, which is located near the Convocation Center. Williams was taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville and was held overnight. He was expected to appear in court earlier today.
