LANCASTER, Ohio — The race for the open Fairfield County Commissioner seat is set after voters cast their ballots in Tuesday’s Primary Election.

Jeremey Fix defeated Lisa Reade 7658 – 5626 to become the Republican nominee.

Fix is chairman of the Fairfiled County Republican Party and Pickerington County Council President.

He will face Democrat Leah Hackleman-Good –after she ran unopposed– in the General Election.

The commissioner seat is open because Republican incumbent Mike Kiger decided not to seek reelection.

Voters also decided the fate of several levies.

The Bloom-Carroll Local School District 4.3 mills bond issue and tax levy passed with 59 percent of voters casting ballots in favor.

The Violet Township Senior Services 0.2 mil levy passed with 74 percent of the vote.

The Amanda-Clearcreak Local Schools District 1.5 percent income tax levy failed with 1,217 voting against and 1,071 voting in favor.

The Thurston Village Police Protection 4.4 mills levy failed to pass 14-44.

The Berne Township Fire and EMS 5 mills levy failed by an unofficial total of 13 votes, 444-457.
