GNADENHUTTEN, Ohio (WOUB) – Traveling all the way to Indian Valley High School to witness the two seeded St. Clairsville Red Devils (12-1) take on the six seeded Meadowbrook Colts (10-2). The Red Devils were coming off a 38-9 shellacking of Carrollton, while the Colts came from down 21 points, scoring 28 unanswered to avenge their loss to John Glenn. It was the battle between high octane Meadowbrook and smashmouth St. Clairsville.

The Red Devils got on the board first. After forcing a turnover on downs St. Clairsville got the ball with decent field position. They drove inside Colts’ territory, when on a crucial third down Drew Sefsick finds running back Jacob Jordan on a screen pass. The blockers aren’t quite there, but that didn’t matter as Jordan took it 40 yards to the house.

The next few possessions for both teams went back and forth with no team really being able to find their footing. The game was played between the forties. Meadowbrook found themselves in Red Devil territory multiple times, but wasn’t able to break through the stout defense.

With 3:42 left in the first half, St Clairsville was driving. They had the ball fourth and three from the Colts nine. They looked for a reverse pass, but Romeo Dorsey batted it down. It was a huge stop for Meadowbrook. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get anything going again and gave the ball back to the Red Devils.

They made sure to score this time. Jordan was the feature back on this drive and he found the endzone for a second time in the first half. This one came from 22 yards out. St. Clairsville led at halftime 14-0.

First drive of the second half, the Red Devils looked to put this game away, and they would. Jordan goes for the hat trick taking his third touchdown to the crib from 43 yards. Jordan

finished the game with 180 total yards and four touchdowns. He outgained the entire Meadowbrook offense on his own. They were only able to muster 167 yards of offense. A huge credit to the Red Devil defense.

St. Clairsville will take on the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs next weekend in the 1v2 battle for the region.
