What's on TV

As the Bobcat football season draws closer and closer, viewers can expect to see major changes on screen and behind the scenes of Bobcat Blitz. With the prospect of seeing new faces and new changes for the upcoming sixth season of the football-oriented sports program, executive producer Danielle Wilson assures that the show will still have the same motto of “a part preview, part review, inside the huddle look at the Ohio University Bobcats.”

The half-hour sportscast routinely highlights the previous week’s game, previews next week’s game, and includes weekly interviews from Coach Frank Solich as well as various members of the Bobcat team. A football analysis solely dedicated to the Ohio Bobcats, Bobcat Blitz will continue to use these elements as the core of their program. “The main elements of the show will stay the same,” Wilson said. “We are just adding a few new changes to make the show more fresh.”

Wilson also revealed what viewers can expect from this upcoming season. “The show is going to be completely reformatted,” she said. “There will be new music, a new logo, and a new face gracing the screen.”

Referring to Caleb Troop, a senior broadcast journalism major, Wilson thinks he will be good addition to the show. “Caleb will report and narrate interest packages on the players and coaches of Ohio University’s football team,” she said. “I think it will add something more to the show than just reviewing and previewing the past and upcoming games. It will add more energy and fun.”

While she thinks viewers should watch every episode of the show, Wilson was quick to point out some of the anticipated highlights for the season. “I think the homecoming episode will be great as well as the Ohio State game because they are two of the biggest regular season games we play,” she said. “However, I think viewers should watch closely at the end of the season because the team is eager to defend their MAC East title.”

The new season of Bobcat Blitz premieres Sept. 3 at 11 p.m. and airs every Friday night and Saturdays at 11 a.m. throughout the Bobcat’s football season. The show will also air on SportsTime Ohio and Fox College Sports Central.
